Also remember, as decided in class last Wednesday, your homework is now due the
Friday which follows the scheduled date for a given problem set. This means you
need to turn your problem set into the main physics office (Fronczak 239)
before 5:00 PM on Friday the set it due (Don't be late, the secretaries usually
leave exactly at 5:00 on Friday and lock the door behind them). There is a box
labeled PHY101mfa where your homework should go. Of course, homework will be
accepted prior to each lecture so you may turn it in early if you wish.
09/08/02 - Lecture notes for the second part of Chapter 3 are now posted. You may find them here.
09/10/02 - As one of your fellow students pointed out at the end of Monday's lecture, there is a miscalculation in the example problem given in the notes. I have corrected this and replaced the last two slides in chapter3_part1.sxi.pdf. You only need to print slides 10 and 11 to correct this.
09/09/02 - I am changing the form of the notes posted online. They will now be posted exclusively in PDF (portable document format) which will make both viewing and printing easier. To view them, you need to download and install the free Acrobat Reader from www.adobe.com.
09/08/02 - Lecture notes for part of Chapter 3 are now posted in both HTML and PDF form.
09/05/02 - The course syllabus is now online. You can find it here:
