Research Interests
Our primary interest is in the relativistic quantum mechanics of strongly interacting, few particle systems. At the present time the focus is on the pion-nucleon, two nucleon, and three nucleon systems. Our relativistic models for these systems satisfy exactly the requirements of special relativity and quantum mechanics. The interactions employed are either purely phenomenological; or derived from particle exchange processes, as described by quantum field theory. Calculations are being carried out on pion-nucleon, nucleon-nucleon, and nucleon-deuteron scattering. The coupling of these systems to the electromagnetic field is also under investigation. In particular the photoproduction of pions from a nucleon is being analyzed, as well as the electromagnetic form factors of the deuteron.Current Projects
